Spiritual filth?

I’m a great judge of character.  I’m hardly ever shocked at people’s ‘sudden’ change of behaviours and it’s not surprising that I have very few friends.  You see, people are great pretenders. Very rarely do people show their real selves. They give you ‘face’. And the people you think you know, you don’t really know at all 😊.

Let’s take myself as an example,  I may be well dressed, seem like I have it all together and always smiling. I may know all the books of the bible,  have my own house and car. May have a great family and what seems to be an admirable life.  However, I may be the most wicked, selfish, depressed, negative, procrastinating woman you may ever meet. And secretly, everything in my life is falling apart.

But if I give u ‘face’ you will never know how evil my heart really is. However, you have already placed me above the drug addicts and prostitutes because of the way I carry myself. But beneath my exquisite clothing and eloquent manner, I may be the most evil and conniving person you will ever meet in your life. Yes, I may appear to have no filthiness of flesh, but what about my dirty, pungent spirit?

2 Corinthians 7:1 says we should cleanse ourselves from the filthiness of the flesh AND the spirit. It’s all good not fornicating and being the first one in service on Sunday morning but you are hateful, jealous and greedy. What’s the point in that? Isn’t that conflicting? Don’t get me wrong, no one is perfect, but, how can you be a hateful christian? I’m sorry sister, but why are you mad that someone is in “your seat”? 😏

Saints I’m encouraging us to do better. Not in our own strengths of course. We cannot do it without God. How dare we have a form of godliness.  Let’s ask God to turn our spiritual filth into spiritual fruits; love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control 😊.
